Pets and Social Networking

Pet owners are the nicest people I know. They're happier and less stressed than people who don't own pets and they are very friendly and generous. So it's natural that they would want to connect and share with others online.

I got my start sharing about my pets about 2 years back through the online photo sharing site , Flickr. I had posted pet pics online long before that, but Flckr provided a community around the photos and I added hundreds of friends to my network, many of whom would check every day for new photos of my cats!

Now, if you search the web for Pet Social Networks and a growing number of sites are popping up, from Fuzzster, MyCatSpace and MyDogSpace, the offshoots of familiar and popular networking sites, to sites that help you meet pet owners in your neighborhood, like Pawspot.

Something all of these sites have in common is that they let you post photos and descriptions of your pets, the basics of what you can do in Flickr. What's even better, they are FREE!

Check them out today and sign up for a couple. You can find links to the sites mentioned above and a few more here.
